You have a test in progress — starting again resumes where you left off.
How it works
- 48 activities, one at a time. For each, choose from Dislike to Enjoy. There are no right answers — answer for the activity itself, not the pay or prestige of the job around it.
- Six interest types. Your ratings build six scores — Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional. The theory is John Holland's, used in career counselling worldwide since the 1950s.
- Your Holland Code. Your three highest types form a code like ASI or RCE. Your result shows all six scores, what your top types mean, and real careers that fit them.
- A real instrument, not a made-up quiz. The questions are the published RIASEC marker scales from the Interest Item Pool (Liao, Armstrong & Rounds, 2008) — the same public research instrument used by the Open-Source Psychometrics project. Sources and scoring are on the method page.
The six types
How much would you enjoy this activity?
Tip: go with your first reaction. Rate the activity itself — imagine doing it regularly as part of a job, whatever the salary.

Your Holland Code is
Your six interest scores
Each score runs from 8 (dislike everything in that type) to 40 (enjoy everything). Your top three types form your code.
What to do with this
- Your code is a starting point for exploring, not a verdict. Look at the careers listed under your top types and notice which ones pull you — that reaction is information too.
- If two scores are close, read both type pages. Many people fit a blend, and the second and third letters matter.
- Share or revisit your result any time with this page's address — your scores are in the link itself, not stored on any server.
